DESIGN//colour

Playing with colour combinations and shapes as a starting point for idea development for the colour on the products...

I'm still experimenting with colour designs but I thought I'd see how these fit onto the product lables:

<< although they work visually, I dont think they fit in in terms of context. I'm looking into how I can make the application of colour more specific to this brief

Printed designs...

In order to see if the designs work, they need printing off to see how the text, layout and spot colour sits on the stock:

I decided to print an off-white label onto grey stock because i wanted to keep the designs minimalistic/sophisticated. Although they come together ok, they're definitely missing colour

<<< I wanted to incorporate a bag into the set of photographic products and I thought a large logo would sit nicely on the bag. Im still not sure about the use of brown paper but I'll see how my designs develop...

although I'm happy with the layout of the information thats going to be displayed on the lables, I'm not so happy with how the logo is sitting on the page...

I looked back at my old logos, vectored some i thought would work and place them in the designs...

this one in particular stood out to me as the logo is appropriate for photographic film and it gives the designs that darker space that i think they needed:

POSTER//designs

I was thinking of including a promotional poster and wanted to apply what I learnt about duotone in photoshop

^^^ I found this image and thought it would be a good start for poster designs.

seeing how the stickers would fit in with the poster designs

although I enjoyed using duotone Im still not certain if I'll be using it for the poster designs.....

keeping with the univers condensed typeface 

 ^^ keeps the designs minimal and informative

I particularly liked the red sticker designs as they add a nice stamp of colour to the designs but I think I need to apply them into my designs to see if they actually work...

^^ I'm not too happy with how the logo is sitting in the designs so I'm looking into other logo designs as I go along.....

TYPE

 

I wanted to keep the type informative rather then decorative... matchbook (top right) worked well close up but was not functional as a type. The most applicable typeface was Univers (condensed) as it was simple/infmorative
