poster design development

This is image stood out to me the most in terms of clarity, composition and colour. I thought it would potentially work well within posters but first it needed editing. I added grain and felt like it gave the image more contrast and depth. Another one I'll potentially use has been enhanced with colour and light aswell as smoothing out the background with the brush tool.

fonts|logo

After much consideration I decided to go for a serif font as I felt it was delicate, feminine & sophisticated compared to the more square sans serif fonts. The ones that worked best were Baskerville Old Face & Didot..

After a self-organised crit we came to the conclusion that didot looked the most appropriate with cleaner edges. After playing around with the weight of the text I felt the original typeface looked nicest with the designs & at the moment I'm liking the type with the a box to border off the logo.

logo designs

After sketching out some ideas I've decided to develop a hand-rendered logo for the tenten label as it connotes sophistication as well as adding a personal touch to the small shoe brand. A lot of the successful shoe brands have hand-rendered logos and I feel it works really well in terms of visual appeal & feminity.

I feel like this one worked the best in terms of fluidity:

garments

After taking the images off the website I applied both monotone & duotone to be used in a look-book/zine that will be available in the store. I didn't want to take too much detail away from the images as the pattern design is very symbolic of me & thee clothing.

starkey

seeing as this is a one week brief, i wanted to play with images that i think would work well for the vinyl designs and experiment with the type to get plenty of variations..I decided to kee pit all on one document just so it's easy to duplicate designs, changing them slightly as I go through...

tags/textures

I printed off some of the logo ideas and textures as tag designs just so that I had some printed visuals to experiment with. After getting some feedback from around the studio it was decided that the boxed off logo with the baskerville old face type denoted feminity & sat a bit more sophisticated compared to the other designs.
